I just acquired an additional term life insurance policy. Yes, I do have life insurance thru my work benefits, but I had a monetary desires research done and I don't have enough life insurance to cover my loved ones' needs if I die young. At least, I haven't got enough from what I get at work.

A large amount of people I'm employed with and my pals appear to believe that they get lots of life insurance from work. But I got some additional term life quotes because I started to realize that it's really not that much, if you think about it. I know that we at work only have two-times our yearly income for coverage. That might seem like a lot of money to you, particularly if you've got a big salary, but I started finding out that you actually need between and ten times your yearly salary!

See, if you die younger than you expect to, the first thing your family will go thru is a major, stressed life change. You will be gone. So that the last thing they are going to need is to be forced to change their way of life. And, you would need them to still have that lifestyle that you've helped them get, anyway. So, you must have a lot more life insurance than what you are earning as it represents many missing years. Your family can pay off some immediate bills, but then put the remainder of the money into an interest-bearing account that they can draw an earnings profits from for many years to come.

But, I picked term life because my finance counsellor explained to me that it doesn't truly make sense for a lot of people to have life insurance for the rest of their lives. I've got sound investments going on ( thanks to her ) and as long as I don't die a untimely death I plan to become independent financially some day. I will not have to have life insurance then.

But, that day is a great distance off. And that is the reason why I have got term life insurance today. It is like my money bridge into the future..
